Shu
The "Shu" by Yikun combines the narrow profile of a speed 7 driver with the characteristics of a speed 4 midrange, carving out a unique niche in the midrange category. With a speed of 4, it requires significantly less arm speed than traditional fairway drivers while delivering more punch than typical approach discs thanks to its sharp edge. This makes it especially appealing for players with moderate throwing power who want precise lines on short to mid-range distances between 75 and 85 meters. In flight, it exhibits a distinctly understable behavior with pronounced turn. When thrown flat, the disc quickly turns right and holds this anhyzer line consistently until landing—it only fades back with a strong hyzer angle. The high glide rating of 5 ensures long hang times, while the moderate fade of 1 only comes into play on hyzer-flip shots. The flight path reacts sensitively to release angle and throwing power: too much force or too flat a release leads to uncontrollable turnover lines, while controlled power and hyzer angles produce elegant S-curves with a straight finish. For hyzer-flips on short distances, the "Shu" is a reliable option when the landing zone is right of the target line. It also excels for intentional anhyzer shots where other midranges would turn over too early. Beginners benefit from its low speed requirement and can gain their first experience with understable flight patterns. Advanced players with slower arm speeds can use it as a dependable tool for technical tunnel shots and controlled turnover lines where traditional drivers would demand too much power.
