The "Qi" by Yikun Discs is an understable distance driver designed for players looking to maximize distance through hyzer-flip throws. With a speed of 13, it achieves full flight paths even at moderate arm speeds, making it ideal for fairway drives that demand controlled turnover lines. The Dragon Line and Phoenix Line offer solid durability while maintaining a grippy feel in the hand. Unlike many high-speed drivers, the Qi remains accessible to intermediate players who are just starting to explore faster discs. In flight, the Qi exhibits pronounced turnover behavior that kicks in even with moderate throwing power. Its high glide rating of 6 keeps the disc airborne longer, enabling flights well beyond 130 meters. After the turn phase, the moderate fade of 2 reliably stabilizes the landing without abruptly shortening the line. When released on hyzer, the Qi smoothly flips to flat and finishes with a slight right drift—perfect for S-curves and sustained anhyzer lines. However, too much anhyzer can quickly lead to uncontrollable turnover, making precise release angles crucial. In high-altitude conditions or with a tailwind, the understable characteristics become even more pronounced. For backhand throws, the Qi delivers consistent hyzer flips and long, straight lines with a gentle finish. Forehand throws require more finesse, as excessive spin can cause the disc to overturn. Intermediate players benefit from the combination of speed and control, while advanced throwers can use it strategically for turnover shots and rollers. Beginners with faster arms will find the Qi an accessible entry into high-speed drivers, though they should practice moderate release angles first to fully utilize its flight potential.
