Gatekeeper
# Westside Gatekeeper The Westside Gatekeeper positions itself as a versatile midrange with an overstable foundation, ranking among the most-used discs in the Trilogy lineup. Its domed profile combined with a flat top ensures comfortable grip across various plastic versions, with VIP and Tournament being the preferred options. As a speed 4 midrange, it covers the spectrum between controlled approaches and precise fairway throws without drifting into extreme stability ranges. The Special Edition is slightly less stable than the standard version, expanding its usability. With a glide rating of 5, the Gatekeeper generates noticeably more float than typical overstable midranges, maintaining distance with moderate power. A turn of 0 means minimal rightward movement on powerful throws, while a fade of 2 ensures a reliable but not overly aggressive left finish. This flight characteristic sits between the straight-line performance of a Truth and the overstability of a Harp. On full-power throws, it resists turning over, while at moderate speeds, it produces predictable straight flights with a gentle fade. Stability remains consistent even in headwinds. For players with mid-level power, the Gatekeeper serves as a dependable workhorse for hyzer and flat lines in the 60–90-meter range. Advanced players use it for controlled anhyzer lines that reliably flex back, while beginners benefit from its forgiveness on imperfect release angles. This disc excels in tunnel shots and situations requiring a late but predictable fade. With its balance of glide and stability, it often replaces multiple specialized midranges in the bag and performs reliably for both forehand and backhand throws.
