The "Loki" by Viking Discs serves as a utility midrange for technically demanding situations requiring controllable overstability. With a speed of 4 and fade of 4, it covers the same niche as discs like the Dynamic Discs Justice or Innova Gator—but with its own distinct characteristics. Its primary use lies in approach shots up to around 30 meters, where precise hyzer lines and reliable fade behavior matter more than distance. In windy conditions, the disc stays predictably on course without unwanted turn. Storm Plastic dominates in practice, followed by Ground Plastic and Armor, with Storm delivering the strongest fade component. In flight, the "Loki" exhibits immediate hyzer behavior right out of the hand. The low glide rating of 2 keeps the disc flat and working downward quickly—ideal for low approaches under branches or shots where uncontrolled glide would be problematic. A turn of 0 means practically no rightward drift for RHBH throws, even with strong power. The fade kicks in early, pulling the disc reliably left without extra forward push. Left crosswinds barely amplify this effect, while headwinds further stabilize the disc. For forehand throws, the "Loki" excels: its overstability compensates for the natural anhyzer tendency of many sidearm releases while still producing straight to slightly right-fading flights. Backhand players use it strategically for extreme hyzer lines or spike hyzers when they need the disc to drop steeply without rolling away. Beginners will struggle—this disc demands clean technique and arm speed to generate usable flight phases. Intermediate and advanced players, however, appreciate its predictability: every throw lands exactly where the fade dictates, with no surprises.
