The "Drift" by Streamline Discs serves as a versatile fairway driver for controlled distance throws between 80 and 100 meters. With its compact rim, it suits various hand sizes and delivers a reliable combination of straight flight and gentle finish on moderate fairways. It particularly shines on wooded courses with tight corridors, holding precise lines without excessive lateral movement. The Proton and Neutron versions differ slightly in stability: Proton tends to resist turn a bit more, while Neutron responds more directly to understable lines. In flight, the "Drift" develops a smooth S-curve with moderate turn and controlled fade. Its high glide rating of 5 ensures extended flight phases without uncontrolled drifting. When released flat, it stays largely straight with subtle rightward movement for right-handed backhand throws before a gentle fade guides it to the ground. With increased arm speed, slight hyzer flips can be executed, transitioning into a stretched-out line. The actual flight characteristics are slightly more stable than the numbers suggest—the -2 turn is rather restrained, while the 1 fade reliably engages. For beginners, the "Drift" offers an accessible introduction to faster fairway drivers, as it delivers controllable results even with moderate throwing power. Advanced players appreciate it for precise tunnel shots and cleanly shaped anhyzer lines. On forehand throws, it holds stable angles without early turnovers, while backhand throws benefit from its pronounced glide for extra distance. Positioned as an alternative to classic understable fairway drivers like the Leopard, the "Drift" stands out with its slightly stronger fade, making it a reliable choice for throws that demand both distance and predictable landings.
