STARi
The "STARi" by Prodiscus is a versatile midrange for players who appreciate turnover lines and straight, sustained flights. With a speed of 4 and glide of 4, it covers everything from controlled approaches to longer midrange shots. Thanks to its combination of high glide and low fade, it excels on technical fairways and tunnel shots where traditional stable mids would fade out too early. The Ultrium plastic provides a grippy feel and durable flight characteristics that hold up over many rounds. In flight, the "STARi" exhibits a distinctly understable behavior with a turn of -2 and fade of 0. After release, it drifts gently to the right and holds this line over long distances without significant fade at the end. On flat release angles, it delivers long, straight flights, while with slight anhyzer, it tends toward pronounced turnover flights. The disc reacts sensitively to throwing speed: with moderate power, it remains controllable, but with higher arm speed, the turn becomes more pronounced. In windy conditions, adjustments are needed, as headwind amplifies the turnover. Comparable to the Axiom Paradox or Innova Coyote, it offers similar flight characteristics in a durable plastic. For beginners, the "STARi" provides direct feedback on throwing technique and allows for early turnover experiences without excessive turn. Advanced players use it strategically for hyzer flips, where it flips from a hyzer angle into a long straight line, or for intentional right-turning backhand shots. It remains predictable on forehand throws as well, as long as throwing speed is kept moderate. As a one-disc option for practice rounds, its versatility covers many throwing scenarios and helps refine angle control and release precision.
