The "X3" by Prodigy is a distance driver designed for experienced throwers seeking a controllable high-speed bomber with a straight flight path. With a speed rating of 12, this disc is tailored for players who have enough arm speed to unlock its full potential. The slightly slimmer rim compared to the D-series makes it easier to grip for medium to smaller hands. Available in 400, 400G, and 500 plastics, the "X3" offers a balanced blend of grip and durability, with the 400G variant providing extra stability in windy conditions. The flight characteristics are neutral to slightly overstable, depending on throwing power and weight. With strong throws, the disc exhibits a gentle turn that transitions into a controlled straight flight before finishing with a reliable fade of 2. Lighter weights around 168 grams tend to show more turnover tendencies, making them suitable for longer S-curves, while heavier molds remain more stable and hold their line even in headwinds. Without sufficient throwing speed, the fade dominates earlier, making the disc less forgiving. The high glide rating of 5 noticeably extends the flight phase, maximizing distance with a clean release. For maximum distance, flat to slight hyzer releases work best, while anhyzer throws allow for controlled turnover lines. The "X3" performs well for both backhand and forehand throws, with the latter benefiting from its stable baseline characteristics. Advanced and skilled players will find this a reliable workhorse disc for open fairways and distance shots between 110 and 130 meters. Beginners should first master slower drivers, as the "X3" requires precise technique to harness its neutral flight behavior.
