Understable

The Prodigy F9 is an understable fairway driver designed for players seeking maximum turnover characteristics and long, sweeping lines. With a speed of 8 and glide of 6, it combines enough velocity for distance with exceptional float, while its -4 turn and 0.5 fade make it ideal for rollers, wide S-curves, and hyzer flips. The pronounced dome enhances glide but demands clean throwing mechanics. Available in the popular 400 and 500 plastics, it offers a grippy feel and solid durability for frequent use. In flight, the F9 showcases its extreme understability even at moderate arm speeds. Released flat, it immediately turns right and maintains the turnover line throughout its flight before gently fading—minimal fade barely slows it down. For hyzer flips, it reliably flips up to flat, then transitions into controlled turn and floats far. Its high sensitivity to spin makes it especially effective for rollers: thrown on slight hyzer, it rolls smoothly and far. Increased power amplifies the turn significantly, making the disc highly responsive to throw speed and angle—precise control is key. For beginners and intermediate players with moderate arm speed, the F9 unlocks distance potential unattainable with more stable fairways. Hyzer flips work even without max power, and the disc forgives incomplete rotation on backhand throws. Advanced players use it strategically for technical turnover shots, rollers, and extreme right turns but must carefully manage speed and release angle. In wooded courses, its extended glide enables curving lines around obstacles, while on open fairways, the combination of turn and float maximizes distance.
