D1
# Prodigy D1 The Prodigy D1 is an overstable distance driver designed for players with powerful throws who need reliable control in the wind and on long fairways at Speed 12. With its wide rim and strong fade, it’s ideal for distance shots where the disc must stay on its intended line even under pressure. The 400G and 400 plastics deliver consistent performance, while the 500-series version is slightly more accessible and offers greater workability. In flight, the D1 exhibits high glide and a stable flight path, allowing only minimal turn on powerful throws. The pronounced fade ensures a reliable left-side finish, though the intensity of the hook varies depending on the plastic type. Lighter weights around 160 grams can be flipped up with maximum acceleration, while heavier models remain overstable even at high arm speeds. Compared to other high-speed drivers like the Innova Destroyer, the D1 offers a more direct, less floaty flight with a stronger finish. The different plastic versions cover a wide range—from extremely overstable to moderately workable after some wear. The D1 shines on hyzer lines and forehand drives, resisting turn at high speeds and reliably fading left. For full-power backhand throws, it can be thrown on straight to slightly anhyzer lines, with advanced players unlocking its full potential at 350 feet and beyond. Beginners, however, may struggle as the disc fades too early without sufficient arm speed. Intermediate and advanced players will find the D1 a dependable utility driver for headwinds and precise distance shots.
