The "A3" by Prodigy Disc serves as an overstable midrange for controlled approach shots and precise fade lines. With a speed of 4 and fade of 3, it covers the same territory as discs like the Zone or Harp but exhibits an even more direct fade tendency with comparatively reduced glide. The flat rim and pronounced dome create a distinct feel, setting it apart from the standard profile of many approach discs. Available in 400 and 500 plastics, the "A3" delivers consistent stability for throws into the wind and for shots requiring a reliable hyzer-side landing. In flight, the "A3" completely resists turn, transitioning immediately into fade even on powerful releases. The combination of speed 4 and fade 3 produces a steep finish, making it ideal for dogleg lines and approach shots under 80 meters. The glide of 4 is tempered by its strong stability, causing the disc to drop earlier than midranges with similar speed but less fade. This predictability makes it ideal for shots where overshooting must be avoided. In 400 plastic, the stability holds up over many rounds, while 200 plastic offers a slightly grippier surface with a similar flight path. For hyzer approaches and forehand shots at short to medium distances, the "A3" performs reliably. It suits situations where a Gator or Buzzz OS might be used but provides an alternative grip option due to its flat profile. Advanced players utilize the disc for skip shots and controlled landings on tight fairways, while beginners may need time to adjust to its strong fade. The "A3" is aimed at throwers with medium to high arm speed who seek a no-compromise, overstable midrange for technical lines.
