Spire
The "Spire" by Pie Pan Discs operates as a distance driver with a speed of 12, striking a balance between controllable distance and reliable fade. With its overstable baseline, it excels in powerful throws where clean landings, even in windy conditions, are essential. Its versatility spans open fairways to situations requiring precise placement using the fade. In flight, it demonstrates a balanced mix of glide (5) and moderate turn (-1), allowing for a slight S-curve when thrown with sufficient arm speed before the fade (2) corrects the path leftward. The overstable nature ensures the disc doesn’t become uncontrollable at higher speeds. Instead, the flight remains predictable: after an extended glide phase, the fade reliably engages, bringing the "Spire" safely to the ground. This combination of speed and stability makes it comparable to models like the Innova Wraith, though with a stronger finish. Hyzer releases amplify the natural fade, making it ideal for dogleg holes to the left. When thrown flat or with a slight anhyzer, the disc utilizes its turn for extended distance before the fade takes over. For forehand throws, the stability provides security against unwanted turnovers. Advanced players with higher arm speed can fully unlock its potential, while intermediate throwers benefit from its reliability at moderate speeds.
