The "Tesla" by MVP Disc Sports functions as a fast fairway driver bordering on distance drivers, covering throws where traditional fairways reach their distance limits. With a speed of 9, it bridges the gap between controlled fairway models and true distance discs, making it ideal for powerful, straight flights with reliable fade at the finish. In Neutron and Proton plastic, it proves sturdy enough for windy conditions and precise approaches, while Fission variants at reduced weight offer more distance with moderate arm speed. The flat top and rim provide a secure grip, though some may find the edge slightly sharp. In flight, the disc behaves more stable than its flight numbers suggest. The listed turn of -1 primarily appears at high throw speeds, resulting in a controlled, slight right turn before the fade of 2 reliably pulls it back left. At medium arm speed, it flies nearly straight with minimal turn and a stable finish. The glide of 5 ensures enough float without making the disc uncontrollable. Proton plastic slightly enhances overstability, while Fission versions in the 155–160g range offer more distance on the same flight path and are slightly more accessible. The "Tesla" holds hyzer lines cleanly, while anhyzer throws smoothly flex back to center. It works for turnovers only with significant power or in lighter weights. Forehand throws benefit from its stability and dependable fade, while backhand delivers precise, straight flights with a secure finish. Advanced players with sufficient arm speed can use it as a versatile workhorse driver for 90 to 110 meters, though beginners may struggle with its stability and required speed. For intermediate throwers, it becomes a reliable primary driver once technique is dialed in.
