The "Longhorn" by Mint Discs fills the gap between controllable distance drives and reliable stability in the wind as an 11-speed distance driver. With its naturally overstable orientation, it excels for powerful hyzer throws and situations where other high-speed drivers would turn over too early. The Eternal version particularly strikes a balance between distance and predictability, while the Apex variant tends to deliver slightly more fade depending on the production run. As an alternative to well-known 11-speed drivers like the Wraith, the Longhorn offers a firmer grip and a more direct flight path thanks to its flatter profile. In flight, the disc combines moderate glide with controlled turn. The speed of 11 requires sufficient arm speed to unlock its full potential—when thrown with power, it develops a long, stable trajectory with a gentle drift to the right before the 2.5 fade reliably brings it back. Flatter Eternal plastics tend to provide a bit more glide and a less aggressive finish, while domier versions react more overstably. The Apex variant generally feels grippier and finishes with stronger fade, making it the top choice for headwinds. Nocturnal Glow adds extra stability for maximum wind resistance. The Longhorn truly shines on hyzer lines: it holds the angle and lands predictably without excessive fade. For anhyzer throws, it remains stable enough to resist flipping and reliably flexes back to center. Advanced players with throws exceeding 100 meters use it as a primary distance workhorse, while intermediate throwers rely on it for overstable shots and hyzer bombs. Even for forehand throws, the flat profile provides solid control and predictable flight paths with enough power.
