Understable

The "Freetail" by Mint Discs is an understable distance driver with a speed of 10, designed for maximum distance on turning lines. With a turn of -4 and fade of 1, it excels at long turnover throws and tunnel shots where the disc needs to drift right and stay there. The high glide of 5 noticeably extends the flight phase, adding extra distance even at moderate arm speeds. Beginners will find it an accessible way to achieve distance driver range, while advanced players can use it strategically for rollers and extreme turnover lines. In flight, it shows a pronounced right drift, varying in intensity depending on the plastic type. Apex and Eternal versions start off less understable, developing turn more controllably, while Sublime plastic offers significantly more turn and transitions into a turnover faster. When thrown on hyzer, the disc reliably flips to flat and then turns right without strong fade at the end. This flight path remains consistent even when broken in, with older models allowing even more direct turnover lines without requiring a hyzer flip. The low fade ensures flat landings with minimal sideways skip. Backhand throwers use the "Freetail" for wide S-curves and hyzer flips, where the disc stays on its turning line for a long time. For forehand shots, it works as an anhyzer option for navigating obstacles or as a roller disc when released flat. Beginners with limited throwing power will find it delivers effortless distance without overstability issues, while experienced players appreciate it for precise turnover shots and rollers. The Apex variant offers better grip in cold weather and stays stable longer than the faster-wearing Sublime version.
