The "Chasm" by Meridian Discs serves as a versatile distance driver for throws up to around 110 meters, where control matters more than maximum distance. With a speed of 11 and glide of 5, it bridges the gap between a technical fairway driver and a true bomber disc without falling into the category of hard-to-handle high-speed discs. Its overstable baseline makes it particularly reliable in windy conditions, where many other drivers with similar speeds become uncontrollable. The slightly domed profile sits comfortably in the hand and promotes clean releases. In flight, the Chasm follows a predictable path with moderate turn (-1), allowing for a gentle S-curve on powerful throws before the reliable fade (3) brings it back. The stability is sufficient to hold the line even in strong headwinds without fading too early. Players with higher arm speed will experience flight characteristics similar to a Wraith—controlled distance with a predictable finish. At moderate throwing power, the overstability becomes more dominant, making it a dependable utility driver for situations where fade must be guaranteed. For forehand throws, the Chasm excels in flex shots, where the disc is thrown on anhyzer and fights back left due to its stability. Slow overhead throws also benefit from its predictable flight path. Advanced players appreciate it as a precise workhorse driver for technical fairways, while beginners with a solid throw will find a forgiving driver that still offers distance potential. The Clarus plastic combines grip with durability and remains controllable under varying weather conditions.
