The Lone Star Disc "Tumbleweed" is a Speed 10 distance driver designed specifically for beginners and players with moderate arm speed. With a Glide of 6, Turn -3, and just Fade 1, it delivers controlled distance without an aggressive fade phase. The pronounced dome and unique rim design maximize lift, while its understable characteristics perform reliably even with less throwing power. For experienced players, it serves as a turnover and tailwind specialist, while beginners can use it to throw their first true distance lines. Compared to classic beginner drivers like the Innova Leopard, its pronounced dome provides significantly more glide with similar stability. In flight, the combination of high turn and moderate fade creates a long, sweeping S-curve. After release, the disc gently drifts right (for RHBH), holds this line over long distances, and fades minimally back to center. With a hyzer release, it performs a reliable flip-to-straight with a stable forward phase. The dome enhances hangtime beyond average, adding extra meters especially in tailwinds. Players with higher arm speeds use the Tumbleweed for extreme turnover shots or anhyzer bombs, where it drifts right throughout its entire flight path. The Bravo plastic offers a grippy feel with good durability, while Alpha versions are slightly more stable. For forehand throws, the disc's strong understability makes it suitable only for controlled anhyzer shots. Its primary use is for backhand, where it helps beginners avoid typical fade issues and achieve their first 80-meter throws. Advanced players value it for technical wooded lines requiring late right drift or as a tailwind option when classic fairway drivers would fade too early. Despite the high dome, its relatively flat profile ensures clean releases even for smaller hands. Recommended from skill level 0, it targets beginners but remains relevant in experienced players' bags due to its versatility.
