The "Lariat" from Lone Star Disc serves as a versatile fairway driver for controlled distance throws up to around 100 meters. With a speed of 9, it bridges the gap between technical fairways and fast distance drivers, offering a neutral to slightly overstable flight path. This model excels at straight lines with reliable fade at the finish and moderate flex shots without being overly aggressive. Available in Alpha and Bravo plastics, the disc features grippy surfaces with subtle stability variations—Bravo leans slightly more overstable, while Alpha remains smoother and holds a straighter line. In flight, the "Lariat" delivers a balanced performance: its -1 turn allows for a gentle rightward drift on backhand throws with moderate arm speed, while the 1 fade ensures a controlled landing without sharp dumping. The glide of 5 keeps the disc efficiently airborne, noticeably extending flight time. Released on hyzer, it follows a reliably straight path with late fade; on slight anhyzer, it holds the line steadily over distance. Forehand throws benefit from its moderate stability, preventing uncontrolled turns even at higher speeds. For intermediate players, the "Lariat" is an ideal workhorse driver, covering both technical fairway shots and open-distance throws. Beginners with some experience will find it an accessible option for their first longer drives, as it neither fades too aggressively nor turns unpredictably. Advanced throwers appreciate it for precise turnover lines and as a dependable straight-to-fade option in windy conditions. The Bravo Glow variant retains its flight characteristics even in night play, further expanding its versatility.
