Cannon
# Legacy Cannon The Legacy Cannon is a high-speed distance driver designed for advanced players seeking maximum distance with controllable stability. With a speed rating of 14, it requires powerful throws and open fairways to unlock its full potential. While it struggles on tight wooded courses, it truly shines on wide-open fairways. Available in Icon, Pinnacle, and Sparkle plastics, the Pinnacle offers less stability than Icon, catering to different throwing strategies. This disc positions itself as a true distance option for players with sufficient arm speed. In flight, the Cannon exhibits noticeable turn (-3) when thrown with power before engaging its reliable fade (3) at the end. The high glide rating of 5 supports extended flight paths, making it one of the longest-flying discs in its class. Stability varies by plastic: Icon versions tend to be more overstable and hold lines reliably, while Pinnacle models allow for more turn. Without adequate arm speed, the disc's overstability dominates, preventing the desired flight path. When powered up correctly, it develops a smooth S-curve with usable fade at the finish. The Cannon excels for turnover shots with significant distance—provided the thrower generates enough speed. Anhyzer throws can be controlled over long distances, while hyzer releases emphasize its overstable characteristics. Backhand throws benefit from the combination of speed and glide, whereas forehand throws demand precise technique. Intermediate and advanced players with developed throwing form will find this a reliable tool for max-distance attempts. Beginners may face technical limitations, as the disc fades too early without sufficient arm speed, failing to reach its full distance potential.
