Trident
The Latitude 64 "Trident" serves as an overstable fairway driver for precise lines in challenging conditions. With a speed of 6, it bridges the gap between controlled midranges and faster distance drivers, while its pronounced fade of 3 ensures reliable landings. The wide diameter and flat top give it a unique hand feel, setting it apart from other fairway drivers. In Opto and Gold Line plastics, it delivers particularly consistent flight characteristics, while Retro Burst offers a grippier alternative with slightly faster break-in. As a utility disc, it excels in technical situations where reliability outweighs maximum distance. On the line, the disc behaves predictably stable with a speed of 6 and glide of 4, without being overly fast. The minimal turn of -0.5 allows for a brief straight phase on powerful throws before the strong fade kicks in, pulling the disc reliably to the left. This combination makes it highly wind-resistant—even in strong headwinds, it holds its line without unwanted drifting. The stability enables aggressive anhyzer throws that fade back controllably, as well as steep hyzer lines for dogleg situations. Unlike much faster overstable options, it remains less sensitive to nose angle and forgives minor flaws in throwing mechanics. For forehand throws, the "Trident" performs exceptionally well, rewarding clean releases and enabling skip shots. It also delivers reliable results for backhand throws from players with medium to high arm speed. Intermediate players appreciate it as a dependable workhorse for technical fairways, while advanced throwers use it strategically for utility shots and scramble situations. Beginners may find it less accessible due to its stability—more neutral fairway drivers are recommended initially. In situations demanding absolute control, this disc offers a rare combination of moderate speed and uncompromising stability.
