The "Grym" by Kastaplast is a distance driver designed for players with higher arm speed seeking maximum distance. With a speed of 13, glide of 5, turn of -1, and fade of 2, Kastaplast positions this disc as a slightly understable option in the high-speed category. In practice, however, it exhibits a noticeably more overstable flight than the manufacturer's numbers suggest—especially in the K1 plastic, where the "Grym" resists turnovers more than expected. The flat profile and well-designed rim allow for clean releases but demand sufficient throwing power. The K1 and K1 Glow plastics deliver the brand's signature premium feel with a grippy surface. Technically, the "Grym" requires powerful throws to unlock its full potential. The disc starts off stable, maintains a controlled straight flight with moderate glide when thrown with enough acceleration, and finishes with a reliable fade. Unlike what the flight numbers imply, it doesn’t turn over easily—even in tailwinds, it remains predictable on its line. This stability makes it a dependable tool for long-distance shots with a predictable landing, but only if the player can generate enough spin and speed. For advanced players with refined technique, the "Grym" can add 20 to 30 meters of distance compared to slower drivers. It excels on long fairways with moderate headwinds and situations requiring precise distance throws with a stable flight path. Beginners, however, will quickly hit a wall—without sufficient arm speed, the disc’s distance potential remains untapped. If you're looking for a reliable max-distance driver with an overstable character and have the necessary power, the "Grym" is a high-quality companion for demanding throws.
