Savant
The Innova "Savant" bridges the gap between classic fairway drivers and faster distance drivers. With its controlled range of 90 to 100 meters, it excels in technical fairway shots where precision outweighs maximum distance. This disc serves as a versatile workhorse for straight lines with reliable fade and performs equally well for both forehand and backhand throws. Its rim profile sits comfortably in the hand, reminiscent of trusted 9-speed control drivers. In Star and Champion plastic, it delivers particularly consistent flight characteristics. In flight, the "Savant" exhibits stable-to-overstable behavior with minimal high-speed turn. At full power, it follows a straight path with moderate glide before finishing with a dependable fade of two to the left. The disc resists uncontrolled turnovers and maintains its course even in windy conditions. Fresh out of the box, it easily replaces seasoned fairway drivers that have become too understable from wear. Its flight resembles a faster Eagle or a glidier Thunderbird, striking a balance between stability and straight-line performance. The Halo Star variant tends to show slightly more stability than standard Star runs. For backhand throws, the "Savant" works well for straight drives with controlled finishes and slight hyzer lines. On forehand throws, it delivers predictable paths without unexpected flipping. Players with moderate arm speed appreciate it as a reliable option between midrange and distance drivers. Beginners with limited throwing power can also utilize the "Savant," as it doesn't produce excessive fade and allows for straight lines. Advanced players strategically deploy it for tunnel shots and precise fairway placements where a Firebird would be too overstable.
