ORC
The "ORC" by Innova Champion Discs operates as a distance driver, bridging the gap between fairway and maximum distance. With a speed of 10, the rim remains relatively narrow, making the disc more accessible than many faster models. Its slightly deeper profile ensures a stable grip, while its flight characteristics resemble a more compact version of the "Destroyer"—offering greater control and requiring less arm speed. Champion and Star plastics dominate its use, though DX versions break in faster and exhibit significantly more turn. For throws between 90 and 120 meters, the "ORC" covers the range where fairway drivers fall short and high-speed bombers remain unpredictable. In flight, the disc holds a long straight phase before reliably fading with a three-unit finish. The -1 turn activates on clean releases with sufficient speed, creating a gentle S-curve without losing control. Fresh discs fly nearly straight with a strong fade, while seasoned ones show more turnover potential in mid-flight. Stability remains predictable across plastic types: Champion maintains its overstable line the longest, Star offers moderate turn earlier, and DX quickly becomes a turnover tool. The four-unit glide is more moderate than many other speed 10 drivers—this disc relies more on speed than float. On a hyzer release, it follows a controlled forward path with dependable fade, while anhyzer allows for smooth S-curves without flipping over. The narrower rim works well for forehand throws, forgiving moderate off-axis torque and holding the line. Intermediate players use the "ORC" as their first true distance driver that doesn’t demand maximum arm speed. Advanced players rely on it for controlled distance shots with predictable fade, especially when precise finishes matter more than pure distance. Beginners with solid fairway throws will find it a smooth transition to higher speeds without instability.
