Understable

The Innova "Mirage" is an understable putter designed primarily for approach shots and creative lines. With a speed of 3 and glide of 4, it achieves moderate distances, while its turn of -3 and fade of 0 create pronounced right-turning flights for right-handed throwers. The bead on the inner rim provides extra grip and a defined edge during release. The thin flight plate and slightly domed shape enhance its characteristic flight. In Star plastic, the disc shows particularly consistent flight characteristics, while DX versions break in faster and develop even more turn. In the air, the "Mirage" reveals its extreme understability even at moderate throwing speeds. Released flat, it immediately turns right and holds that line with minimal fade at the end. At lower speeds, it flies remarkably straight, using its high glide for soft, floating landings. Stronger throws significantly increase the turnover—the disc can even flip completely. This makes precise power control crucial. When thrown on a hyzer angle, it quickly flattens out and transitions into a straight or slightly right-turning path. Anhyzer releases amplify the turn further, allowing for extreme curve shots around obstacles. For beginners, the "Mirage" is an excellent choice, as it enables controlled flights even with low arm speed and helps develop an understanding of turnover lines. It shines in the 40 to 70-meter range for approach shots that need to navigate around trees or over obstacles. Advanced players use it for specific situations requiring extreme right turns or flat roller approaches. The disc works well for both backhand and forehand throws, though forehand releases tend to exhibit even more pronounced turnover tendencies.
