Croc
The "Croc" by Innova is an extremely overstable midrange designed for demanding approach shots and utility throws. With its flat, beadless profile and speed of 5.5, it bridges the gap between classic midranges and approach discs, while its strong fade of 5 and minimal glide of 2 ensure uncompromising reliability. For intermediate to advanced players, it serves as an alternative to discs like the Innova Gator or Westside Harp but surpasses them significantly in overstability. The Star plastic offers the ideal balance of grip and durability, while Halo Star adds extra stability. In flight, the "Croc" behaves more like a utility driver such as the Whippet than a conventional midrange. After a short, straight initial flight, the aggressive fade kicks in early and dominates the entire trajectory—turnover is virtually impossible, even at full power. The low glide rating of 2 keeps the disc on a controlled, flat path before it reliably fades left. This characteristic makes it physically resistant to unwanted turn, even in headwinds or with suboptimal release technique. Compared directly to the Westside Harp or Dynamic Discs Justice, it delivers even greater overstability with similar handling. For forehand-dominant players, the "Croc" excels as an approach disc up to about 75 meters, where precise hyzer lines with guaranteed skip are needed. It also provides absolute predictability for backhand throws in the wind or flex shots under 80 meters. The flat profile ensures clean releases, while the extreme stability forgives mistakes and consistently maintains the intended fade direction. Beginners may struggle with its demanding flight characteristics, but advanced players with clean releases will appreciate its no-nonsense utility performance for technical situations.
