Understable

The "Ace" by Innova is designed for players seeking an understable putter for controlled turnover lines and precise approach shots. With a speed of 2, it fits into the classic putter range and is ideal for distances up to around 60 meters. Its versatility spans from long-distance putting to technically demanding approaches where a gentle right curve for right-handed backhand throws is desired. Part of the lineup since 2001, the "Ace" fills a niche between straight-flying standard putters and highly overstable utility discs. In flight, the understable nature is evident with its -2 turn: the disc turns right early and maintains this line for much of its trajectory. A glide of 3 ensures a solid float phase, adding extra distance, especially on flat releases. The moderate fade of 1 at the end prevents uncontrolled dumping, allowing the disc to glide smoothly to a stop. This combination of early turn and mild fade creates predictable flight paths without abrupt finishes. For anhyzer throws, the rightward curve becomes more pronounced, while slight hyzer angles compensate for the understability, producing nearly straight lines. In forehand throws, the "Ace" tends to turn left quickly, requiring precise angle control. Beginners benefit from its forgiveness on low-spin throws, while advanced players use it strategically for turnover approaches and anny lines in wooded areas. On open fairways, it excels at smooth right-turning shots that navigate around obstacles.
