Sockibomb Slammer
The "Sockibomb Slammer" by Dynamic Discs is an extremely overstable approach disc with unusually low glide. With a speed of 3 and fade of 4, it covers the segment for short, controlled approaches where the disc should drop quickly and predictably to the ground. Its distinctive deep-dish profile sets it apart from flatter approach putters and provides a unique hand feel. Available in Classic Supreme Orbit, Classic Supreme Raptor Eye, and Classic Blend, it offers various grip options—though softer plastics may show wear more quickly. In flight, the extreme overstability is evident through near-total resistance to turn and a strong fade. The glide of 1 means the disc barely hovers after release, instead quickly finishing its flight path. This combination makes it significantly more overstable than comparable approach discs like the Zone, resulting in a steep, short flight curve. Even with an anhyzer release, it fights back reliably and lands left of the throwing direction. The flight numbers are precise—turn 0.5 and fade 4 describe its behavior exactly. The "Slammer" excels for approach shots between 30 and 60 meters, especially when wind or obstacles demand a flat, controlled line. Forehand throws benefit from its high stability, while backhand players can use it effectively for hyzer lines and utility shots. Advanced players appreciate its predictability for technical approaches, while beginners may need time to adapt to its extreme overstability and low glide. Positioned as an alternative to the Gateway Devil Hawk or Westside Harp, its deeper profile and even more aggressive fade carve out a niche for players seeking maximum fade reliability at minimal distance.
