Sergeant
The "Sergeant" by Dynamic Discs serves as an overstable distance driver for players with medium to high arm speed. With a speed of 11, it bridges the gap between controlled fairway drivers and high-speed max-distance discs. Its primary use lies in reliable throws in windy conditions and situations requiring predictable fade without uncontrolled turnovers. Available in Lucid and Fuzion plastic, it offers a grippy feel even in wet conditions, with Lucid providing slightly more stability than Fuzion at the same weight. In flight, its overstable nature shows minimal turn and a reliable fade of 2.5. The disc maintains its line even on powerful throws without turning right—flat releases or slight anhyzer angles maximize distance. Despite its stability, the glide of 4 delivers surprisingly long flights while consistently fading left. In headwinds, the flight remains stable and predictable. Lighter weights around 170 grams require flatter release angles or moderate anhyzer, while 175-gram versions reliably come back even with more aggressive angles. Suitable for both forehand and backhand throws, the "Sergeant" excels particularly in forehand shots where its stability ensures control. Intermediate players use it as a wind fighter and for straight to slightly left-fading lines in the 100 to 110-meter range. Advanced players achieve distances over 120 meters with clean technique and deploy it for hyzer lines or overstable slot shots. Beginners may find it less suitable due to the required arm speed—it demands enough power to activate the glide and fully utilize the flight phase.
