Scavenger
# Doomsday Discs Scavenger The Scavenger from Doomsday Discs bridges the gap in the midrange segment between controlled straight flights and accessible turnover lines. With a speed of 5, it operates in a range that requires neither maximum power nor precise timing, making it ideal for approach shots between 60 and 90 meters. The high glide rating of 5 noticeably extends flight time and allows for flatter release angles without the disc dropping prematurely. In both Ration and Isolation plastics, it offers solid grip while maintaining a stable flight path, with base plastic breaking in faster and bringing out its understable characteristics sooner. In flight, the -2 turn dominates its behavior: the disc gently drifts right after release (RHBH) and holds this line over long distances. The moderate fade of 1 ensures a slight finish at the end without fully neutralizing the turnover motion. On flat releases, the Scavenger flies nearly straight with minimal lateral drift, while slight anhyzer angles enable controlled S-curves. The combination of turn and glide makes it susceptible to tailwinds, while headwinds cause it to flip right earlier than more stable midranges. For beginners, the Scavenger serves as a versatile tool: straight approaches work without a powerful snap, and initial turnover attempts remain predictable. Advanced players use it for precise hyzer flips, where the disc flips from a hyzer angle into a straight line and holds it until landing. It also works well for forehand throws, as the moderate turn doesn’t lead to uncontrollable turning. As a putter alternative for longer straight approaches up to 30 meters, it offers more distance than typical putt-and-approach discs.
