Frag
The "Frag" by Doomsday Discs is a utility midrange designed for extreme situations where traditional lines fail. With a speed of 5 and fade of 5, it fills niches between a Stego and a Tilt—ideal for short dogleg shots, tight wooded scrambles, or abrupt directional changes within 50 to 75 feet. The chunky rim profile and low glide eliminate any distance ambitions but deliver precise control in tight spaces. The C-4 plastic offers a soft, grippy feel, while Weapons Grade provides added stability for hard impacts. In flight, the massive fade dominates any throw direction. Backhand throws with a flat release immediately veer left and land without roll-out. Forehand lines remain possible but require anhyzer angles to generate any distance—otherwise, the disc drops just as abruptly. Overhand throws and thumbers benefit from the extreme stability, flexing back from roller angles into a straight line. Any attempt to force distance results in uncontrolled turnovers or rollers, which is why the "Frag" is strictly designed for technical shots under 25 meters. For advanced players, this disc becomes a scramble tool when trees, obstacles, or extreme doglegs leave no other options. Full-power hyzer throws produce a steep, predictable curve that can be precisely shaped around corners. Intermediate players can use the "Frag" for specific situations but must adapt to its unusual flight characteristics and lack of forgiveness. Beginners should stick to classic midranges—the extreme flight ratings make this disc unsuitable for learning.
