Crisis
The "Crisis" by Doomsday Discs serves as an overstable approach midrange for precise throws with controlled fade. With a speed of 4 and fade of 4, it covers situations where reliable stability is needed at short to medium distances—especially in windy conditions or for more forceful throws. Its flat profile provides a slimmer grip compared to deeper approach discs, making it appealing for players who prefer compact hand shapes. Available in Isolation and Survival plastics, it delivers consistent performance across various conditions. In flight, the overstability dominates: a turn of 0 means no right drift on a clean release, while the pronounced fade kicks in early, reliably pulling the disc left. The low glide of 2 keeps the flight path flat and prevents uncontrolled sailing—ideal for approach shots where the landing zone is tight. The Crisis flies similarly to a Zone OS but tends to land slightly earlier due to its stronger fade, making it suitable for shorter approaches with a direct drop. Even in headwinds, the flight remains stable without flipping right. For hyzer or flat approach shots, the Crisis delivers predictable results—the fade works reliably even at moderate arm speeds. Forehand throws benefit from the stability, preventing unwanted turnovers even on less-than-perfect releases. The flat shape enhances grip and suits players who find deeper discs too bulky. It’s best suited for advanced and intermediate players seeking a dependable utility disc for situations where overstability and controlled fade take priority over distance. Beginners may struggle with its low margin for error and early fade.
