The Discraft "Swarm" bridges the gap between classic approach discs and overstable midranges. With a speed of 5 and fade of 4, it's designed for controlled throws between 60 to 90 meters where a reliable landing without unexpected drift is essential. The flat top and beadless design create a comfortable grip for both throwing styles. This combination of stability and compact construction proves especially useful in windy conditions and on technical fairways. As a midrange, it offers more distance than a Zone while maintaining the same predictable fade. In flight, stability dominates its behavior. A turn of 0 means virtually no rightward movement on a clean release, even with power. The pronounced fade kicks in early, reliably pulling the disc left. A glide of 3 keeps the flight path flat and direct, without unnecessary height or float. This predictability makes the "Swarm" more dependable than many other overstable midranges, requiring less adjustment for different throwing strengths. Compared to a Lucid Justice, it shows slightly less resistance but remains noticeably more stable than standard midranges with similar speed. For forehand throws, the "Swarm" delivers precise flex shots and reliable hyzer flips at medium distances. Backhand players benefit from controlled hyzer lines and the ability to throw straight paths even into headwinds. Advanced players with consistent form will find it a dependable tool for situations where turnovers must be avoided. Beginners, however, may struggle as the disc offers little margin for error and consistently pulls left. Those already experienced with overstable approaches will find the "Swarm" a versatile addition between putters and faster fairway drivers.
