Predator
The Discraft Predator fills the role of an overstable fairway driver for demanding wind and utility situations. With a speed of 9, it sits between classic midranges and faster distance drivers, making it ideal for controlled throws on technical fairways and reliable hyzer lines. Many players use it as a Discraft alternative to the Innova Firebird, with nearly identical flight characteristics in practice. Available in Z Line, Big Z, and ESP plastics, it offers varying grip and durability options—Z Line for maximum overstability and ESP for slightly more flexibility. In flight, the Predator maintains consistent overstability throughout. The speed 9 allows for moderate distances up to around 90 meters, while its turn 0 and fade 4 ensure an early and pronounced hyzer finish. Even with powerful throws, the disc stays on its intended line without unwanted turnover. Its flight follows a predictable pattern: straight launch, minimal drift right, and a strong fade at the end. This reliability makes it the top choice for dogleg-left holes and headwind shots. The combination of moderate glide and high stability prevents overshooting the target. For forehand throws, the Predator excels due to its stable flight plate and controlled fade. Hyzer backhand throws produce dependable curves for navigating around obstacles. This disc is primarily suited for advanced players with sufficient arm speed, as less experienced throwers may only achieve short hyzer flights. For those with solid technique, it becomes a versatile tool for utility shots, skip shots, and precise fairway drives in challenging conditions.
