The "Nuke" by Discraft is one of the fastest distance drivers in their lineup, designed for experienced players with high arm speed. Its extremely wide rim allows for maximum distance on open fairways but also demands better technique and grip security. Particularly in Z Line and ESP plastics, it excels in long drives where speed and power are crucial. However, players with smaller hands may find the wide rim less comfortable and require some adjustment. In flight, the disc behaves more stable than its flight numbers suggest. The -1 turn is barely noticeable at moderate arm speeds, while advanced throwers with strong power can induce a slight rightward movement. The glide of 5 ensures excellent float, especially with a clean release. In the final phase of flight, the reliable fade of 3 kicks in, bringing the disc predictably back to the left. Newer ESP runs show slightly less torque resistance compared to older versions but remain far from understable. The Z Line variant is known for its superior turn resistance, making it ideal for maximum control at high speeds. For forehand drives, the "Nuke" offers a dependable option due to its stability, while on backhand throws, it truly shines in powerful, flat releases for maximum distance. Intermediate and advanced players benefit from its combination of speed and predictable fade, though sufficient arm speed is a must. Beginners may struggle, as the disc fades too early without enough power, failing to unlock its full potential. It remains stable and penetrating in windy conditions but offers less flexibility on wooded courses due to its speed and wide rim.
