Meteor
The "Meteor" from Discraft works as an understable midrange with Speed 5 and Glide 5, making it especially great for beginners and players with moderate arm speed. The pronounced turn of -3 ensures the disc reliably holds its intended line even with less power, while the slight fade of 1 at the end provides controlled landings. As an all-around midrange for technical wooded courses and open fairways, it covers the spectrum between straight throws and intentional turnover lines. Available in ESP and Z Line plastics, it offers both grippy and durable options. In flight, the "Meteor" proves to be a reliable turnover partner, turning immediately to the right when thrown flat and maintaining a smooth glide. The combination of high glide and strong turn allows for distances that wouldn’t be achievable with more stable midranges at comparable arm speeds. The minimal fade kicks in late and gently, ensuring the disc holds its line until the very end. In tailwinds, the turnover effect becomes more pronounced, while in headwinds, it stays flatter and resists overturning better than other understable models. For beginners, the "Meteor" is an excellent choice as a first technical midrange, as it generates distance even without perfect technique and remains forgiving. Advanced players use it strategically for anhyzer lines through tight gaps or for long turnover shots on open fairways. It can be thrown controllably both backhand and forehand, with the forehand particularly benefiting from its natural rightward curve. In premium plastics, the disc retains its flight characteristics over time and, as it wears in, becomes an even more accessible tool for straight throws with minimal effort.
