Overstable

The "Hallux" by Discraft is an overstable distance driver with a speed of 10, bridging the gap between controlled fairway throws and full-power bombers. This speed provides enough potential for distance without the extreme demands of higher-speed discs. The combination of moderate speed and strong overstability makes it a reliable tool for shots where the line must not drift right, as well as for windy conditions or tight fairways. In flight, the Hallux exhibits a straight to slightly left-pulling trajectory. With a glide of 5, it stays airborne long enough to build distance, while a turn of 0 ensures it holds its line even on powerful throws. A fade of 3 delivers a predictable and consistent left hook at the end of the flight. This flight pattern makes it resistant to accidental turnovers and provides stable results even with less-than-perfect technique. For backhand throws, the Hallux reliably executes hyzer shots that turn left early, as well as flat releases that hold up against headwinds. Forehand players use it for powerful flex shots, where the disc starts right and fades back controllably. Recommended for skill levels 3 and 5, it suits both advanced beginners and experienced throwers—beginners benefit from its stability, while advanced players appreciate its control at higher speeds.
