The Discraft "Flick" serves as an extreme utility disc for situations demanding maximum overstability. With its flat profile and narrow diameter, this distance driver is primarily aimed at forehand throwers who need sharp dogleg lines or L-shaped paths around obstacles. The disc excels in strong headwinds, overhead throws from tricky positions, or when extreme fade curves are the only option. While it's less suited for maximum distance, it delivers exceptional reliability in its specialized role. In flight, the "Flick" stands out as one of the most overstable distance drivers on the market. The combination of Speed 12, minimal Glide of 3, and massive Fade of 5 creates an extremely predictable flight path with aggressive leftward pull at the finish. The Turn rating of 1 is deceptive—even at high arm speed, the disc barely drifts right and maintains its hyzer line consistently. The flat top and low-profile rim further enhance aerodynamic stability. Compared to similar utility discs like the Innova "Firebird," the "Flick" is even more overstable and offers virtually no forgiveness for insufficient throw speed. For forehand throws with sufficient power, the disc unlocks its full potential: it cuts through wind, holds steep hyzer angles, and lands reliably with a hard fade. Backhand players typically find the "Flick" too overstable for standard lines but can use it intentionally for extreme hyzer throws or thumber/tomahawk shots. The Z-Line and ESP plastics preserve stability over time. Advanced and experienced players with high arm speed value this disc as an indispensable tool for specific problem scenarios, while beginners gain little benefit from its extreme characteristics.
