Crank
The "Crank" by Discraft serves as a versatile distance driver for players with medium to advanced arm speed. With its wide rim and relatively shallow profile height, it targets distances beyond 100 meters without demanding the control requirements of a pure bomber like the Nuke. Particularly in Z Line and ESP, it proves to be a reliable option for powerful drives, while Big Z offers additional durability with consistent flight characteristics. The disc works well for both backhand and forehand throwers, establishing itself as a stable alternative in the high-speed segment. In flight, the Crank combines moderate turn with controlled fade for a predictable S-curve. On powerful throws, it initially drifts gently to the right before reliably fading back—the -2 turn to 2 fade ratio provides more stability than the numbers might suggest. The glide of 5 noticeably carries the disc farther without making it uncontrollable. This balance makes it especially effective at higher altitudes or in moderate tailwinds, where it maintains a clean line. The overstable tendency becomes particularly evident on lower-power throws, where it transitions into fade sooner. For hyzer lines with power, the Crank excels—it works out of the angle and settles into a straight to slightly right-turning path before the fade kicks in. On anhyzer, it can be forced into long turnover shots but requires sufficient throwing speed. Forehand players appreciate the combination of speed and stability for powerful flex shots. The disc primarily targets intermediate and advanced players who consistently throw 100 meters or more and seek a dependable distance driver with predictable flight behavior. For beginners, it remains challenging due to its high speed requirement.
