# Discmania Shogun The "Shogun" from Discmania is an overstable beaded putter with a pronounced depth in the flight plate area. With a speed of 2, it covers classic putting distances and, thanks to its reliable fade component, is ideal for precise approaches in windy conditions or on lines requiring a controlled finish. The Active Baseline and Active Premium Glow plastics provide grippy surfaces that work particularly well for spin-putting techniques. As an entry-level disc, it performs predictably across various skill levels—from beginners to advanced players, the flight characteristics remain consistently dependable. In flight, it exhibits a stable straight path with moderate glide, keeping the disc on line longer than many flatter putter models. A turn rating of 0 prevents unwanted rightward drift on clean releases, while the fade of 2 ensures a reliable finish to the left. On shorter distances up to about 50 meters, the flight path remains predictable, even in light headwinds. The disc's depth and pronounced inner rim bead support a clean release point—the disc spins out of the hand steadily without tipping prematurely. For putting, the "Shogun" is particularly suited to spin-putting styles, as the bead provides extra grip and ensures smooth rotation. On approach shots, it remains stable even at flatter angles and resists early turnovers. Hyzer lines enhance the fade, while anhyzer throws reliably flex back to center. Beginners benefit from its forgiving stability, while advanced players use it strategically for precision tasks inside Circle 1 and beyond. This disc fills the niche between neutral putters and true utility discs.
