Function
# Discmania Function The Discmania Function is a versatile fairway driver with a speed of 8 and an exceptionally high glide of 6.5, making it ideal for controlled distance throws and turnover lines. With a turn of -4 and a moderate fade of 1, it covers a range of flight paths from straight flights to pronounced right turns, offering solutions for both technical fairways and open-distance challenges. The plastic lineup primarily includes Forge and Alloy, both of which impress with their comfortable feel. In flight, the Function stands out as an extremely glide-heavy disc with a clear turnover tendency. The high glide rating of 6.5 noticeably extends the flight phase, allowing for impressive distances beyond 110 meters with the right release. When thrown on hyzer, it executes a controlled flip to flat followed by a gentle turnover, while flat releases transition directly into a right-turning curve. The moderate fade ensures a predictable finish without abrupt fading. Forge plastic behaves slightly more stable than Alloy, offering a bit more control at higher arm speeds, though both versions deliver the signature glide performance. For beginners, the Function serves as an accessible fairway driver, enabling straight flights and initial turnover experiences even with moderate throwing power. Advanced players use it strategically for long turnover lines, hyzer flips for maximum distance, or as a roller option. The disc works well for both backhand and forehand throws, with forehand shots particularly benefiting from its natural turnover tendency. Combining high glide with controllable turnover behavior, the Function positions itself as a reliable tool for technical fairway shots and distance throws with a right-turning finish.
