Cloudbreaker
The "Cloudbreaker" from Discmania is a highly overstable distance driver designed for advanced players seeking maximum distance with controlled fade. With a speed of 12 and glide of 5, it achieves high velocity and carries far before the strong fade reliably brings it back. Newer Swedish productions with pronounced dome offer extra glide, reaching distances comparable to or even surpassing older Innova-made versions. The various S-Line plastics—from Special Blend to Horizon and Golden Horizon—differ in stability: while standard S-Line stays closer to manufacturer specs, Golden Horizon versions are noticeably more overstable, behaving like utility discs for less powerful throwers. In flight, the "Cloudbreaker" follows a fast, straight path with minimal turn before the pronounced fade kicks in. When thrown with power, it remains stable on line before finally hooking left. Fresh discs demand high arm speed to unlock full distance—clean acceleration rewards players with a reliable bomber for long fairways. As it breaks in, the flight window opens up: the disc becomes more accessible, allowing longer straight phases without sacrificing fade reliability. The -1 turn becomes more noticeable in backhand throws, enabling controlled S-curves. For hyzer shots, the "Cloudbreaker" delivers dependable distance with predictable finish, while anhyzer lines also work with sufficient power, still ensuring a secure return. Forehand throws benefit from its overstability, especially in headwinds where the disc remains stable. Intermediate players with growing arm speed will find this a solid entry into true distance drivers—beginners should start with slower discs, as the "Cloudbreaker" fades too early without enough power, wasting potential.
