Understable

The DGA "Tempest" is an understable distance driver with a speed of 13, specializing in maximum distance while maintaining controllable flight characteristics. As a high-speed bomber, it suits players who already throw consistently over 100 meters and seek extra distance without requiring extreme power. The disc excels particularly on open fairways without strong headwinds and offers an alternative to models like the Shryke when a bit more turn is desired. With a turn of -3 and fade of 2, the Tempest exhibits a pronounced right drift in mid-flight before smoothly fading back at the end. The high glide of 5 noticeably extends flight time, carrying the disc far once the necessary arm speed is achieved. On powerful throws, it unfolds a wide S-curve, delivering significantly more distance than more stable drivers in the same speed class. For throwers with moderate power, it functions as a straight bomber, while advanced players can work intentionally with the turn. The disc responds sensitively to release angles and power—too little speed leads to early drift, while sufficient power enables precise hyzer flips. For backhand throws, the combination of glide and turn maximizes distance on slightly right-turning lines. Forehand players can use the Tempest for hyzer-flip shots, though it requires clean technique and sufficient spin. Advanced players appreciate its predictability across different power levels—with reduced effort, flight paths remain controllable. Intermediate throwers who already handle stable distance drivers will find this the next step toward greater distance. The ProLine version provides solid grip and durability for regular course use.
