The "Rift" by DGA is a versatile midrange disc designed for straight lines and controlled flights at medium distances. With a speed of 5 and moderate stability, it covers the spectrum between precise approach shots and powerful midrange drives. In practice, it serves as a reliable all-rounder, excelling both on fairway drives and technical approaches. Its flight characteristics resemble established models like the Buzzz from Discraft or the Hex from Axiom, positioning the Rift as a comparable alternative with its own unique grip profile. The flight is torque-resistant and stable enough for powerful throws without excessive fade. When released flat, the Rift flies straight with a gentle fade at the end, while on anhyzer angles, it reliably holds the desired line. A turn of -1 allows for controlled turnovers without unpredictable flipping, and a fade of 1.5 ensures predictable landings. On hyzer releases, it works back to center but remains dependable. The ProLine and SP-Line plastics provide grippy material with slight flexibility, performing like a seasoned midrange right out of the box. For intermediate players, the Rift serves as a dependable workhorse in the midrange slot, forgiving various release angles and power levels. Advanced and beginner players alike benefit from its control and fault tolerance—the disc responds precisely to input without requiring technical perfection. It performs equally well for forehand and backhand throws, remaining stable even at higher arm speeds. If you're looking for a straight-flying midrange suitable for both point-and-shoot throws and shaped lines, the Rift is a solid, highly versatile choice.
