Delirium
The "Delirium" by Axiom Discs is a high-speed distance driver designed for experienced throwers seeking maximum overstability and control at high velocities. With flight ratings of 14.5/5/-0.5/3, this disc positions itself in the absolute high-speed category and demands corresponding arm speed. The wide rim fills the hand completely, signaling its power-throw orientation right from the grip. In Neutron plastic, the "Delirium" exhibits particularly consistent flight characteristics and is primarily suited for intermediate to advanced players who need intentionally overstable flight paths. The flight mechanics of the "Delirium" are dominated by its pronounced overstability. The speed of 14.5 requires significant throwing power to bring the disc up to operating speed. Despite its strong stability, the glide of 5 allows for surprisingly good hang time, while the minimal turn of -0.5 only becomes slightly visible with extremely powerful throws. The fade of 3 ensures a reliable, pronounced finish at the end of the flight path. Throwers with sufficient power can generate a slight turnover at the beginning of the flight before the disc reliably fades back. With moderate arm speed, the "Delirium" remains extremely stable and resists nearly any attempt to flip over. In practical terms, this means the "Delirium" excels in hyzer lines, where it can fully utilize its overstability. It also handles headwind situations effortlessly, maintaining the intended line without uncontrolled drifting. Anhyzer throws require considerable power but can achieve controlled flex shots with adequate force. The disc works well for both backhand and forehand throws, with forehand benefiting particularly from its natural stability. Distances around 425 to 450 feet are realistic for advanced throwers. Beginners should steer clear—this disc is clearly aimed at experienced players with high arm speed.
