The Dragonfly by AquaFlight Discs is specifically designed for beginners and players with moderate arm speed. As an understable midrange disc made of floating plastic, it combines beginner-friendly performance with practical utility for water hazards. Its design focuses on effortless distance gains without technical hurdles, making it a solid choice for first throws at medium ranges or as a reliable turnover option in your bag. In flight, the disc exhibits pronounced understable behavior. The -3 turn kicks in early, creating noticeable rightward curves for right-handed backhand throws. Even with lower throwing power, the disc noticeably drifts right and maintains this line consistently. The moderate fade of 1 provides only slight correction at the end, keeping the overall flight path right-leaning. With a speed of 5 and glide of 4, it can be controlled at distances of 60 to 90 meters without requiring high arm speed. The flight behavior remains predictable even with suboptimal technique. For beginners, the Dragonfly is particularly well-suited for learning turnover throws and achieving early success with straight to right-fading lines. Its strong understability forgives technical flaws and delivers noticeable distance even without powerful throws. On anhyzer releases, the rightward drift intensifies, while hyzer angles only partially counteract its natural tendency. For forehand throws, the disc remains challenging as it tends to overturn quickly. Advanced players use it strategically for extreme turnovers or as a utility disc in tailwinds. The floating material makes it a practical choice for courses with ponds or rivers.
